Hello, we are Fee & Karsten Fröiland, a married couple, parents and developers of the wobie box.
The idea came to life when our child reached the audiobook age, and we began questioning why we should buy audiobooks when we already had a vast library of children’s audiobooks, music, and more on Spotify. The audio library was already there – but we were missing the perfect player that would allow children to enjoy Spotify independently, without screens or complicated voice controls. That’s when our journey began: to create a speaker that brings Spotify directly into the children's room!
Our professional backgrounds helped guide us along the way: Fee brings her expertise in product development, while Karsten applies his strategic focus on numbers and sales.

We focus on meeting the needs of both children and parents. Our goal is for children to enjoy their audiobooks independently, with a simple, curated selection of content – no screens, no overwhelming options. As parents, we wanted a straightforward way to use Spotify, without spending money on stories we already had. We didn’t want to hand over our phones for listening and desired a speaker that would grow with our children – something that remains cool even at 12 years old and can stay in the kids' room.
This is how our idea for a colourful, practical solution was born, and it’s a project we continue to develop every day with joy, passion, and curiosity.
Why is the wobie box so expensive – or as affordable as it is?
Sometimes we hear, 'Wow, that's a steep price for a box like that!' But why can’t we offer the wobie box at a lower price or provide even bigger discounts?
There are two main reasons for this:
First, the wobie box is a Wi-Fi speaker (not just a Bluetooth speaker), and in this regard, we are actually more affordable than others.
Second, the wobie box works with your Spotify account. Once purchased, it can be connected, and you’re ready to go. Unlike other children’s music boxes, we don’t profit from your repeated purchases. That’s why we can’t offer the wobie box at cost price. With us, you pay once for the product.
Our prices are fair, ensuring you get a high-quality product and excellent service. What’s more, after just a short time, the wobie box will be more affordable for you than other music boxes that require separate audio media or additional subscriptions.
