Why do the voices in the audio book sound distorted or stutter on my wobie box?
Distorted or halting voices in the audiobook?
If you're listening to audiobooks on your wobie box and the voices sound distorted or choppy, the so-called pitch effect could be the cause. This often happens when there are issues with playback speed or the network connection. But don't worry! We have some suggestions for you.
Solution 1: Check the playback speed in the Spotify app
- Disable crossfade: Go to Spotify settings and disable the crossfade feature (Settings > Playback > Crossfade).
- Adjust audio quality: Make sure Wi-Fi streaming is set to Automatic (Settings > Audio Quality). Alternatively, you can reduce the audio quality to counteract the pitch effect.
- Clear cache: Clear the cache in Spotify settings and make sure you have the latest version of the app installed.
Solution 2: Check your network
- Latency issues: Check if other devices are using the Wi-Fi at the same time, potentially consuming bandwidth. If possible, set up a separate 2.4 GHz guest network and connect both the wobie box and your phone to it. Make sure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi network when setting up the wobie box or assigning the rainbow buttons.
- Interference from other devices: Even if the speaker is placed right next to the router, interference can occur from Bluetooth devices, microwaves, or other Wi-Fi networks. Check your surroundings for possible interference.
- Restart your router: Restarting your router can help free up network resources and resolve transmission errors. Unplug the router for 3-5 minutes to clear temporary interference and select a less congested Wi-Fi channel.
- Router firmware: Check if your router has the latest firmware version. An update may also help stabilize the connection.
