Spotify Connect not working? Spotify Kids and managed accounts on the wobie box
Want to assign rainbow buttons or link the wobie box to Spotify? Here's why Spotify Kids and managed accounts don't work with Spotify Connect, and what type of account to use.
Why don't Spotify Kids & managed accounts work?
Assigning rainbow buttons and controlling the wobie box rely on Spotify Connect. Spotify doesn't support it in two cases:
- The Spotify Kids app does not support Spotify Connect.
- Managed Accounts within a Family plan can't connect to external devices through Spotify Connect.
How can you listen on more than one device with a Family plan?
Use a separate, full Spotify account for the wobie box, such as a member account in a Family plan.
- Why? A single Spotify account can play on only one device at a time. Using the same account on your phone and wobie box will interrupt playback on one of them.
- What to do: Create a separate Family member account for the wobie box, with its own email address and login.
- The benefit: You can listen away from home while your child listens on the wobie box at home.
How can you limit explicit content?
On a regular Spotify account, you can turn off tracks marked as explicit:
⮕ Settings ⮕ Content and display ⮕ turn off ‘Allow explicit content’
Tracks labelled ‘Explicit’ (E) will be blocked.
You choose what your child hears
In wobie fav, you assign selected playlists, albums and audio stories to the seven rainbow buttons. Your child can start the content you've chosen.
⮕ Choose seven playlists together.
💡 Remember to turn off Autoplay and Shuffle in Spotify. See our tips on playback order.
